hCaptcha might be the service you have never heard of. We are all familiar with the "I'm not a robot" check box provided by Google to help websites protect forms from spam and other attacks. What you may not know is that Google uses this to train its self-driving cars, they can also use this information to work out which websites you have been on and build an even bigger picture of your online activities.
hCaptcha is different, not only do they have a different message next to their check box ("I am human"), they also have a completely different ethos for their captcha service. Privacy is key, they have developed their tools to be less invasive than Google's after all, as they point out themselves, they are not in the business of selling your data. They also do not train Google's self-driving cars, instead hCaptcha helps provide labeling services to anyone who needs it - this is normally for AI based work such as training datasets. The benefit with hCaptcha is that it will pay site owners every time a user completes a hCaptcha successfully - this is because hCaptcha gets paid for the labeling service.
Whenever we build websites at DACCAA both with regards to DACCAA Services and DACCAA Creative (unless the client states not to), we will also opt to use hCaptcha as a more reliable, more privacy focused way to protect web forms.
