This article aims to highlight the changes made to DACCAA Events within the last fortnight.
Creating an event
There was a lot of thought and planning that went into creating an event, the old experience felt cluttered and relatively slow. We have completely changed the way that you input dates into DACCAA Events. Previously you could only enter dates in the standard yyyy-mm-dd format, now we will allow pretty much any standard format and convert it to that base format.
We have even started adding the ability for the text fields to understand basic forms of natural language, so you can write "This Friday" or "Next Monday" and the site will convert that automatically into the correct date.
You can see an example of this below.
The actual backend for this still is not functional, so it is merely an example of the UI.
Responding to an event
This functionality really has not changed much since the last version of DACCAA Events. This functionality, currently, does not exist within the new build, however we are working to add this. This should not take too long to achieve as it is replicating code and changing it slightly to match the new UI.
Adding additional invites
You will be able to add additional invites to your event in this build and because of this feature, we are removing the default "invite all friends" approach. This way, once your event is created, you can specifically choose who you would like to invite to your event. You will be prompted to do this immediately after creating your event, but a manager or organiser can do this at any time by selecting the relevant button on the event.
